Arlesey Town Ladies v Sharnbrook

Arlesey Town get off to a good start and show good attacking play, by some creative play between Sarah Tayler and Sarah Smith, which wins them a corner. The corner was narrowly put wide by captain Libby Pennett. 5 minutes later, the same creativity from Tayler results in Smith crossing for Sam Zala who also narrowly heads wide. 

Arlesey kept creating chances in the early stages of the game, with Katie Baldwin and Sarah Smith making excellent runs down both flanks, but the keeper made some good early saves and Arlesey, kept narrowly missing the target.

 23 minutes into the game, Zala broke the deadlock, when Michelle Whitehead played a great ball across to Zala, who calmly places the ball in the bottom right hand corner. 1-0 and Arlesey are off to a flyer! Sharnbrook came at Arlesey in search for an equaliser but their attempts, where easily gathered by an on form, keeper, Emma Chamberlain.

 Arlesey soon doubled their lead, in the 35th minute, when Zala, plays a great through ball to  Tayler, who dribbles around a few defenders, with a bullet of a shot, To make it 2-0. Arlesey, nearly added a 3rd within seconds of the restart, when Tayler was unlucky to have her header hit the post and her rebound shot, cleared of the line.

 Tayler picked up a loose ball, in the 40th minute to get her second goal, and she was now looking, for her hat-trick. She didn’t have to wait long, as Katie Baldwin’s pace, took her past her defender and played the ball into Tayler, who puts the ball in the back of the net. 1 minute later Tayler, netted her 4th goal before half time, to make it 5-0.

 Sharnbrook came out fighting, When they scored a goal, which only just missed Chamberlain’s fingertips. 5-1. Arlesey didn’t let this stop, their for more goals! Whitehead was subbed in the 55th minute for Axelle Courlander, who made an immediate impact on the game, making a great run down the line, crossing it to goal scoring machine Tayler, for her 5th goal. 6-1!

 Sharnbrook nearly got a second, in the 70th minute, but chamberlain made a great save, with sub  Karen Clark clearing off the line. Baldwin makes another blistering run down the line, to cross to Tayler, for her to volley it into the net. 7-1.

 Some more great play leads to Courlander’s first goal, With a great turn, she puts the ball in the bottom left of the goal. 8-1 and Arlesey are thinking double figures, are on the cards. Courlander soon gets her second goal, with a great lofted ball over the defence by Pennett, for Courlander to slot past the keeper. 9-1!

 Baldwin, again beats her defend but is tackled late to win a Free Kick, outside the area. Captain Pennett, follows suit with a beautiful curling shot into the top right hand corner. 10-1, Arlesey hit double figures.

 In last ten Minutes Arlesey pushed for their 11th, Zala broke from midfield and beat 3 players before playing the ball through to Tayler, Scoring her 7th Goal and Putting Arlesey 11-1 up!

 Final whistle is blown and Arlesey Celebrate an emphatic victory, over newly promoted Sharnbrook.
