Players are the most important people in the sport. Playing for the team, and for the team to win, is the most fundamental part of the game. But not winning at any cost but Fair Play and Respect for all others in the game is fundamentally important. This code focuses on players involved in top class football. Nevertheless, the key concepts in the code are valid for all players at all levels.

Obligations towards the game: A player should: 1. Make every effort to develop their own sporting abilities, in terms of skill, technique, tactics and stamina. 2. Give maximum effort and strive for the best possible performance during a game, even if his team is in a position where the desired result has already been achieved. 3. Set a positive example to others, particularly young players and supporters. 4. Avoid all forms of gamesmanship and time-wasting. 5. Always have regard to the best interests of the game, including where publicly expressing an opinion on the game and any particular aspect of it, including others involved in the game. 6. Not use inappropriate language. |
Obligations towards
one’s own team. 1. Make every effort consistent with Fair Play and the Laws of the Game to help his own team win. 2. Resist any influence which might, or might be seen to bring into question his commitment to the team winning. Respect for the Laws of the Game and competition rules. A player should: 1. Know and abide by the Laws, Rules and Spirit of the game and the competition rules 2. Accept success and failure, victory and defeat equally. 3. Resist any temptation to take banned substances or used banned techniques. |
1. If a player has a pre-booked holiday and informs the manager at the commencement of training of the vacation dates a review of the player’s commitment to Arlesey Town FC and future actions will be decided. The manager’s view of squad members who go on holidays during the season is that the player does not have commitment or aspirations to the development of Arlesey Town FC. Unavailable players during the playing season could have major impacts on the challenges of league status and performance levels and therefore holidays during the season will not be looked upon favourably.
2. Arlesey Town management will not tolerate foul and abusive language directed at any official of the club including management team, senior club officials, committee members and spectators. Such behaviour will be discussed by the committee and may result in disciplinary action.
3. Arlesey Town has set the objective that the team discipline will be best in the Eastern Region. This is to include minimizing dismissals from the game and verbal abuse towards match and visiting team officials will not be tolerated. Football Association fines will be subtracted at source and depending on the offence severity other disciplinary action may be imposed by the committee.
4. At the end of every fixture the used kit to be arranged correctly for collection by the nominated kit washer.
5. Times for attendance for home and meeting for away games will be clearly stated and must be adhered to,
6. Player’s equipment to be in excellent condition for all fixtures, friendly, league and all cup games.
7. Punctual attendance to a training session is expected. Players to be ready for the training session by 7.15 pm at the latest which will be on a Thursday. If attendance is not possible or late arrival cannot be avoided the player must contact the manager in advance of the training session.
8. All players participating in the game must ‘warm down’ at the end of every game and after any training session to prevent injuries and muscle strain.
9. Players blatantly being aggressive towards a fellow Arlesey Town Ladies FC team mate will be automatically removed from the game and automatically dropped from future fixtures and disciplinary action may be taken. It is the club’s objective that player’s relationships with each other to be exceptional at all times and to promote the club as a professional cohesive outfit.
10. When players disagree with management team decisions, it will not be accepted that the matter is openly discussed in the public domain. All discussions to be completed in a private location after the end of the session/game. If this directive is ignored then this will be deemed as a serious misdemeanour and will be managed accordingly by the committee in private.
11. It is essential that the manager/coaches have full attention of the players in the changing rooms in preparation for the forthcoming game. Players to focus and be committed to the game ahead. Players who are disruptive or not attentive during the team talk will be dropped for that game.
12. No Arlesey Town Ladies FC player will play for any other team, unless prior agreement with the ‘Manager’, commitment to Arlesey Town Ladies FC is paramount to ensure that the season’s objectives can be achieved. If this directive is abused then this deemed as a serious breach of club regulations and will be dealt with by the committee.
13. At all fixtures completed by Arlesey Town FC home and away it is expected that all provided facilities are respected and correctly used by all players.
All players are reminded that they ambassadors for Arlesey Town Ladies FC and are expected to behave accordingly at all times.
‘Arlesey Town Ladies FC’ have developed excellent relationships with the ‘‘The Football Association’, ‘Bedfordshire Football Association’ and ‘The Eastern Region Women’s Football League’ to ensure that the club is respected as a professional organization and ambassador for football. It is the management committee’s intention to continue to develop these relationships further to the benefit of the club.
Disciplinary Code::
All players are subject to the laws of the game and hence subject to FA/league
fines and disciplinary actions. FA/league imposed fines are to be paid for by
the player/member committing the offence and not by the club.
The Arlesey Town Ladies committee will discuss and agree disciplinary action on an individual basis. No monetary fines will be imposed. The range of disciplinary action that may be imposed extends to dismissal from the club.
